"I have a lot to paint about but not too many words- frankly, I just want to be amused, deeply amused." -Virginia Trembles
Upon leaving the monastery of Mu Sang Sa near Seoul, South Korea, the young Virginia Trembles was at a bit of a loose end. The hardy young woman entered and became a finalist in The Annual Mongolian Cow Sour Yogurt Supergirl Contest. The significant scholarship monies have since allowed her to travel quite freely internationally. Among her recent accomplishments, upon recommendation of the painters McDermott and McGough, is a much sought after apprenticeship that began with performance artist/transsexual/cop killer Leslie Nelson near Princeton, New Jersey. When the smoke finally cleared Ms. Trembles completed her studies by participating in the highly publicized Vaseline installations of Robert Chamberlain in a number of better motel rooms throughout upstate New York, and Connecticut.
Ms. Trembles's work was a scandal throughout the summers of 2005 and 2006 at the Barbara Anne Levy Gallery in Fire Island’s Cherry Grove. Also in 2006 Ms. Trembles made her Manhattan gallery debut at Studio 37's Open Studios event and was the featured artist in the March 2007 edition of the web publication FinDeSiecle. Ms. Trembles is thrilled to be presenting BLUSH: Wall to Wall a solo exhibition of current paintings and ceramic plates at Magnet at 18th and Castro in San Francisco, July 1-31, an opening reception is planned for July 5th from 7 to 9 p.m.
Better now, the show jelled and I can see how the plates and paintings work. Still the email blast to get out -I need an upgraded photoshop program. Everything will be fine, just a couple of paintings to work on and finish, labels and photos of the paintings to make, hangars put on -then packing them up and moving them out.
Avoid a void, write to me. All right I'm a horror, I'll write to myself. The Magnet show is making me crazy. Almost enough plates, I'm nervous about the paintings. The grinder feels itchy in my hand. Mabbe it will be an all plate show. The press release is next and getting that together -usually so -easy is a train wreck. My list still scraps of paper. Thanks to to the lovely Tony I have an abundance of postcards-now how to get the use best to get the most response? Being mindful of the mittfulls of crap handed out over Pride that ends up in the land fill. WorryWorryWorry keeps me busy.
